How Can the Body's Control System be Addressed? NeuroModulation Technique (NMT) describes the sum total of all of the neurological and energetic regulatory components of the body as the “Autonomic Control System” (ACS). The ACS works on an “other than conscious” level to regulate vegetative functions of the body. Because there is a barrier to awareness between the conscious mind and the ACS, and because only the conscious mind controls speech, the practitoner must use a vehicle other than speech to establish a dialog with the ACS. One of several methods to do this is muscle response testing (MRT). MRT opens a window through which the status of the ACS can be accurately and completely assessed. It is used because it is a clinically friendly tool in the hands of a practitioner who is competent in its use, and because no special instrumentation is required to perform the evaluation. Sophisticated electronic instrumentation based on galvanic skin response (GSR), or scalar wave transmission as an indicator of ACS response may also be used. Perhaps some form of EEG instrumentation could be developed to monitor such ACS responses. Some NMT practitioners prefer GSR based instrumentation as a tool to establish this practioner/patient ACS communication. Whatever system the NMT practitioner uses to dialog with the ACS of the patient must be convenient and accurate enough to produce good clinical outcomes.
NeuroModulation Technique sees the human nervous system very literally like a "bio-computer" whose software can be debugged instantaneously, and with great accuracy. The degree to which this is true is the degree to which NMT can redirect the patient's physiology to a perfect manifestation of that genetic and energetic field blueprint from which all life and health is derived. What makes these propositions valid and supportable is the incredibly profound, rapid, and objectively observable changes a skilled NMT practitioner can make in a patient’s condition. NMT is a triumph of empiricism. I routinely demonstrate in our NMT Comprehensive level seminars the immediate and profound resolution of chronic pain, severe musculoskeletal complaints, infectious conditions, and allergy. I also offer to perform NMT allergy correction for seminar students who have a true anaphylactic response to some food. In sixteen out of our first 30 seminars we have had such people in the audience. In each case I have performed the appropriate NMT allergy protocol. After this 15-20 minute NMT protocol, I have carefully checked each subject with a procedure that is the equivalent of a sub-dermal test of the allergen, following which every one of these sixteen subjects has been given the offending food to eat. Not once have any of these anaphylactic allergy sufferers experienced an anaphylactic response. Follow up many months, even years later, shows subjects still free from allergy.
The Development of NMT
The first applications of NMT were developed for use in neuromusculoskeletal conditions where pain and contracture of soft tissues were the chief features. These sorts of conditions make for an excellent laboratory for proving the propositions upon which NMT is based. With NMT, we can take virtually any condition characterized by pain and muscle spasm, and modify those symptoms on a real-time basis, yet without the application of any physical modalities or force to the area of complaint. It became obvious very early on that there is nothing unique about the body’s regulation of musculoskeletal processes. The process of developing NMT has been one of taking our basic principles and applying them to permit the body to more optimally regulate virtually any of its regulatory processes.
